4-9-26   THOUGHTS    

We live as flesh and blood in a physical world.  Our “humaness” gets in our way frequently.  Rom  8:6   “For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,”   I have some life insurance, but life “ASSURANCE” comes from God, not an insurance company.  The older we get, the truer this morning’s  reading becomes!  This world cannot answer eternal questions!  Let’s leave the metaphorical “Egypt” in its place, and SEEK GOD!

Isa 31:1-3     Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help And rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the LORD!  2  Yet  He also is wise and will bring disaster  And does not retract His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers And against the help of the workers of iniquity.  3  Now the Egyptians are men and not God, And their horses are flesh and not spirit; So the LORD will stretch out His hand, And he who helps will stumble And he who is helped will fall, And all of them will come to an end together.
Jer 17:5    Thus says the LORD, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind,  And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the LORD.”

Our Prayer:
O Father, may we seek our help from You, the Lord of all creation.  In Christ Jesus, You have given us the answer to our eternal problem... THANK YOU OUR GOD.  In this light,  O God, help us to seek eternity with You, according to Your living hope promise.  We praise You, Father God.    In the name of Jesus,    Amen.
